XPARQ Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 3 June 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to XPARQ.

XPARQ is a technology platform currently operated by its development team. We are committed to protecting the privacy, security, and rights of our users.

This Privacy Policy explains how XPARQ collects, uses, stores, processes, and protects personal information when you use the XPARQ platform, applications, websites, and related services.

By accessing or using XPARQ, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

XPARQ is not intended for children under the age of 13.

Users under 13 years of age are prohibited from creating an account or using the platform.

During registration, XPARQ may require age verification through date-of-birth information. Accounts determined to belong to individuals under 13 years old may be denied access or removed.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

We may collect:

  • Email address
  • Username
  • Display name
  • Profile photo
  • Date of birth
  • Content you create, upload, or share
  • Community posts
  • Comments
  • Messages
  • Support requests
  • Age verification status and completion timestamp (when you complete 18+ verification)
  • Stripe Identity verification session reference (identifier only — not copies of your ID documents)

3.2 Device and Technical Information

We may collect:

  • Device identifiers
  • Device model
  • Operating system information
  • Application version
  • Language preferences
  • Network information
  • IP address
  • Crash reports
  • Diagnostic information

3.3 Location Information

With your permission, XPARQ may collect location information to support features such as Radar and proximity-based discovery.

XPARQ does not publicly display precise user coordinates.

Location data is generally used to calculate relative distance between users and may be disabled through device permissions or in-app privacy controls such as Ghost Mode.

4. How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

  • Provide platform functionality
  • Authenticate users
  • Deliver messaging and communication services
  • Enable social and community features
  • Improve platform performance
  • Maintain security
  • Detect abuse and fraud
  • Respond to support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

5. Messaging and Encryption

XPARQ provides encrypted messaging services.

Private chat messages are encrypted on your device before they are transmitted or stored. Message bodies are kept in encrypted form on our servers. XPARQ does not hold the private keys needed to decrypt those protected messages under normal operation.

Limited metadata (such as delivery time, participants, and message type) may still be processed to operate the service. Optional notification previews, if enabled in settings, may show message content on your device. Quoted-reply snippets in metadata are also stored in encrypted form.

Group chats use separate encrypted envelopes for each member (pairwise sessions). Decrypted message caches on your device are protected with keys stored in the device secure enclave.

If secure messaging components are unavailable on a device, sending may be blocked rather than sending readable text to our servers.

6. Voice and Video Communications

Voice and video communications are protected in transit using industry-standard encryption technologies.

While communications are secured against unauthorized interception during transmission, end-to-end encryption may not be available for all media communication modes.

XPARQ does not record voice calls or video calls as part of normal platform operations.

7. User-Generated Content

Users may create and publish content including:

  • Posts
  • Comments
  • Images
  • Community content
  • Group communications

Content may be reviewed, restricted, removed, or moderated when necessary to enforce platform rules, protect users, or comply with legal obligations.

8. Safety Systems

To maintain a safe environment, XPARQ provides:

  • Reporting tools
  • Blocking tools
  • Mute controls
  • Age-gating systems
  • Content moderation systems
  • Abuse prevention measures

Users may report content or accounts that violate platform rules.

8.1 Age Verification for Adult Content (18+)

Optional identity verification is required to access the Black Hole Zone (age-restricted, 18+ content areas). XPARQ uses Stripe Identity to verify that you are at least 18 years old.

  • Verification is voluntary and only requested when you choose to enable adult-content features.
  • During verification you may be asked to provide government-issued identification and a live selfie. These are collected and processed by Stripe, not stored as readable ID images on XPARQ servers.
  • XPARQ stores only the outcome on your account profile: whether verification succeeded, when it was completed, and a reference to the verification session (not your ID images).
  • Stripe's Privacy Policy applies to data submitted during Identity verification: https://stripe.com/privacy
  • You may contact Stripe or XPARQ to exercise rights related to verification data according to applicable law and each provider's policies.

8.2 Automated Image Moderation

Before certain images are published, XPARQ may send the image to Sightengine (a third-party moderation provider) via our secure backend for automated safety scoring (e.g. nudity detection). Images are transmitted for analysis only. XPARQ receives a safety classification and may block uploads or apply age-restricted labels when thresholds are met. Sightengine's privacy policy: https://sightengine.com/privacy

9. Artificial Intelligence Features

Certain AI-related features may allow users to connect their own third-party AI service accounts.

Where users provide their own API credentials, communications may be sent directly between the user’s device and the selected AI provider.

XPARQ does not generally access, inspect, store, or process prompts submitted through user-supplied third-party AI credentials.

Use of third-party AI services remains subject to the privacy policies and terms of those providers.

10. Third-Party Service Providers

XPARQ may rely on third-party providers including:

  • Supabase
  • Firebase
  • Cloudflare
  • Stripe (including Stripe Identity for optional 18+ age verification)
  • Sightengine (automated image moderation via our backend)
  • AI providers selected by users
  • Infrastructure and security partners

These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide platform services. When you use Stripe Identity or when images are moderated, those providers may also process data under their own privacy policies.

11. International Data Processing

XPARQ serves users globally.

Data may be processed, transferred, or stored in jurisdictions different from the user's country of residence.

Primary infrastructure services currently operate from data centers located in Singapore.

12. Data Retention

If you request deletion of your account:

  • Your account may enter a deletion waiting period of up to 30 days.
  • During this period, account recovery may remain available.
  • After the retention period expires, personal data associated with the account may be permanently deleted, subject to legal, security, and operational requirements.

13. Your Rights

Depending on applicable laws, you may have rights to:

  • Access your information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of personal data
  • Restrict certain processing activities
  • Object to certain uses of data
  • Withdraw consent where applicable

Some features may be introduced gradually as XPARQ evolves.

14. Security

XPARQ implements technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

No system can guarantee absolute security.

Users are encouraged to maintain strong passwords and protect their devices.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

Material changes may be communicated through the platform, website, or other appropriate channels.

Continued use of XPARQ after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
